Deeds and Records Rooms.

These are two of the three restored Deeds and Records Rooms. One houses a Collector's Gallery, here offering a temporary display of antique toys. Originally the deed rooms had wooden beams across the ceiling. However, after passage of a state law that required such storage areas be fireproofed, the county installed steel supports, and metal ceilings and window shutters—all of which have been retained. Eventually the room in the right photo will feature a permanent exhibit showcasing a timeline of the history of Henry County and Martinsville.
