One-Teacher Schools.

Most Rosenwald Schools built in Virginia were of the one- and two- teacher types.

Eventually, the state had 73 one-teacher schools, representing 20 percent of the total number of schools that existed in Virginia.

Both of the one-teacher plans developed by the Rosenwald Fund (shown here and in the previous slide) feature a single large class room, a small industrial room, and two small coat closets.
