DHR's Archives maintains digital and hardcopy records on more than 100,000 historic properties throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. These records consist of documentation that may include
Since this agency's founding in 1966 (as the Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission), agency and non-agency historians, architectural historians, archaeologists, volunteers and interns have surveyed literally thousands of properties resulting in thousands and thousands of archival documents. During 44-plus years, some of these documents were added to the DHR Archives without pinpointing the precise location of their affiliated resource—although we may know the general locality and even the resource's name.

She used the photos as postcards--the prints had information typed on the back and then were handed out for sales promotion. The backs of these photos just have the date, April 1953, and designate it as Craigland Farm, a 2000-acre cattle ranch. |
