The Capital Region Preservation Office region includes the counties of: Albemarle, Amelia, Amherst, Appomattox, Brunswick, Buckingham, Campbell, Caroline, Charles City, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greene, Halifax, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nelson, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, and Prince George. Also included are the cities of: Charlottesville, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Lynchburg, Petersburg, and Richmond.

Directions to CRPO and Richmond Central Office

From I- 95 (Heading North from Southside, Petersburg, Emporia). Take I-95/ I/64 West to Exit 78 (Boulevard). Turn left at end of exit ramp, back under the highway. Take the first right onto Robin Hood, and take the next left onto Boulevard (heading south). Proceed on Boulevard, crossing over Broad Street, Grace Street, Monument Avenue, and Patterson Avenue. Turn right onto the next street (Kensington Avenue). The Department of Historic Resources is on your left at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Boulevard.

From I- 95 (Heading South from Washington, Fredericksburg). Take I-95 South/ I-64 East to Exit 78 (Boulevard). Turn right onto Boulevard (heading south). Proceed on Boulevard, crossing over Broad Street, Grace Street, Monument Avenue, and Patterson Avenue. Turn right onto the next street (Kensington Avenue). The Department of Historic Resources is on your left at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Boulevard.

From I-64 (Heading East from Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Staunton). Take I-95/ I/64 East to Exit 78 (Boulevard). Turn right onto Boulevard (heading south). Proceed on Boulevard, crossing over Broad Street, Grace Street, Monument Avenue, and Patterson Avenue. Turn right onto the next street (Kensington Avenue). The Department of Historic Resources is on your left at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Boulevard.

From I-64 (Heading West from Virginia Beach, Norfolk). Take I-95/ I/64 West to Exit 78 (Boulevard). Turn left at end of exit ramp, back under the highway. Take the first right onto Robin Hood, and take the next left onto Boulevard (heading south). Proceed on Boulevard, crossing over Broad Street, Grace Street, Monument Avenue, and Patterson Avenue. Turn right onto the next street (Kensington Avenue). The Department of Historic Resources is on your left at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Boulevard.

From Downtown Richmond. Take Broad Street west to left on Robinson Avenue (this is in front of the Science Museum). Proceed on Robinson to third light (blinking); make right onto Kensington Avenue. Proceed on Kensington, for two blocks crossing over Boulevard. The Department of Historic Resources is on your left at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Boulevard.

From the West End. Take Broad Street or Monument Avenue east and turn right on Boulevard. Proceed on Boulevard and turn right on Kensington Avenue. The Department of Historic Resources is on your left at the corner of Kensington Avenue and Boulevard.

Parking is available at the rear of the building and on Kensington Avenue. Entrance is on the Kensington Avenue side of the building.
