Historic Resources Board Member: Helen Turner Murphy

Mrs. Helen Murphy, of Mount Holly, is the Vice-Chairman of the Historic Resources Board and has been active in protecting Virginia's natural and historic resources. She is currently the president of the Menokin Foundation, and serves on the boards of the Virginia Historical Society, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and The Nature Conservancy. She is the wife of attorney, W. Tayloe Murphy. Jr., former Secretary of Natural Resources. Mrs. Murphy is also a founding member of the Garden Club of the Northern Neck, and has served on the Caledon Natural Area Task Force, as well as master plan advisory committees for Caledon and Westmoreland State Park. In 2000, she received the volunteer of the year award from the National Society of Fundraising Executives, central Virginia chapter. |
