Mr. Madison Spencer, AIA, architect and planner, founded Madison Spencer Architects in Charlottesville in 2001, after working previously for architectural firms in Boston and New York. In that year, he won two preservation awards and two American Institute of Architecture Awards for his designs. He is licensed to practice in New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, but has also built in Florida, the Caribbean, Germany, and Japan. He earned his B.A. from Washington and Lee University, studied at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies, and completed his M.A. at the University of Virginia, as a Governor's Fellow. In 2006, Mr. Spencer was elected to the International Network of Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism's College of Practitioners, based in London. |
