1920s Remodeling.
After purchasing the property, Judge
Ellis quickly began extensive changes to the dwelling, which transformed
it into the Colonial Revival-style house visitors see today.
These alterations resulted in five
first-floor rooms, including the installation of modern bathrooms and
a kitchen. Three porches were also added. These additions surrounded the original
house, preserving large portions from the elements. In the
upper story, the open loft was divided into bedrooms and bathrooms and
the addition of dormer windows
brought light into the interior.
