Rosenwald Two Teacher Plan v Rosenwald Two Teacher Plan

Two-Teacher Schools.

Distinct from the one-teacher Rosenwald such as Shady Grove School, the two-teacher model was the most common type of Rosenwald built in Virginia.  A total of 184 two-teacher schools, representing 50% of the total, were built in the Commonwealth. This type featured two large classrooms, sometimes separated by a movable partition, a smaller industrial room, and at least one coat closet.  (Click either image above to see a larger version.)
