The Garden Finds a Community.

In 1983, Anne and Edward's son, Chauncey, introduced horticulturist and landscape gardener Jane Baber White to the garden and its history and requested White's assistance in its "fixing up." Inspired mmediately by its legacy and potential for renewal, White led the Hillside Garden Club on a mission to restore and recapture the spirit of Anne's sanctuary. During the next 30 years, the club worked in two separate restoration phases (1983-1991 and 2008-2011) toward that goal, while also providing ongoing stewardship of the site, as it does today.
