VA250: Dig and Treat!

This is no trick! We’ll have digging and treats at Fairfield on Halloween! And since Halloween falls on a Saturday this year during Archaeology Month, we’re taking full advantage, so join us for a weekend dig you won’t want to miss.

Dress as your favorite archaeologist and dig with ours! Whether you channel Indiana Jones, wear your Fairfield cap backward like Thane (one of the co-directors), or your own idea of what an archaeologist looks like, come in costume and get your hands dirty alongside our team.

This family-friendly event blends real excavation with storytelling. We’ll share oral histories, folklore, and the beliefs and superstitions that shaped life in colonial and Revolutionary-era Gloucester.

Bring the whole family for a day of digging, discovery, and a few treats along the way!
