Located in the southwest corner of Halifax County, the nine-acre Williamson Farm is an evolved mid-19th century domestic and farm complex centered around two historic dwellings: the current main house, a two-story, center passage frame residence constructed ca. 1910, and the unoccupied Leonard R. Williamson House, built ca. 1840 with mortise-and-tenon timber framing. Adjoined by a historic farm comprised of a ca. 1850 log tobacco curing barn and early 20th century chicken coop, cotton house, woodsheds, and tractor garage, the Williamson Farm is an architecturally significant collection of domestic and agricultural buildings spanning over one hundred years of development and embodying distinctive types, periods, and methods of construction from the mid-19th through the mid-20th century.
