Nomination Form
This Multiple Property Documentation (MPD) Form facilitates the nomination to the registers of Civil War winter encampments in Culpeper and Fauquier counties in Virginia. The Army of the Potomac’s winter encampment in Culpeper County during the winter of 1863-1864 is significant as a critical and highly influential event in the history of this Union army.
Many properties listed in the registers are private dwellings and are not open to the public, however many are visible from the public right-of-way. Please be respectful of owner privacy.
